California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) requires California employers, with 100+ employees, who file an annual EEO-1 report to submit their demographic workplace data to the State of California each year. As of 2023, employers must now include the median and mean pay rates for each of the defined categories within the report.
(Note: California employer definition includes any organization located in another state who have employees residing and working in California)

The window for filing your EEO-1 report is typically by March 31st each year. Since EEO-1 reports are based on a snapshot of your active employees between October and December, now is a good time to conduct an audit to ensure your employee's demographics and job classifications are up to date.
